Health Psychology | For: Adults & young people 16 years +

As a Health Psychologist, I specialise in supporting people adapt, cope, and manage changes in their health. I am passionate about working with women’s health (e.g., menopause and menstrual conditions), and I am experienced working with presentations such as stress and burnout, chronic pain, heart conditions, diabetes, chronic fatigue, long Covid, and gut health (e.g., IBS). Psychological approaches can help manage and reduce symptom severity and help improve overall quality of life, so that you feel less restricted by your health and able to start living a rich and meaningful life

My clients often arrive feeling stuck, or depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. Others come to me due to changes in their sleep or activity levels, or with low self esteem, chronic stress, and loss of identity. I also help people understand the ‘why’ behind their health behaviours, such as why they might find it difficult to stop smoking or understand more about their relationships with food and exercise. I help clients build on this understanding and learn how to improve their health and wellbeing based on their goals and what is most important to them. From my own experience, I know how hard it is to change health-related behaviours which is why I meet clients with my compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

In addition to therapeutic support, I offer coaching for people who want a space to reflect and set goals to improve their health and wellbeing. For some, this might be a single standalone session, whilst others prefer a longer period of support.

How I Work
I meet my clients with empathy, compassion, integrity, and respect. I believe that the relationship between clients and myself is important, and that you are the expert in you.

I am here to help guide and support you by using evidence-based approaches to help you achieve manageable and sustainable improvements in your health and wellbeing.

Recognising you need support and making that first step takes courage. Before you decide if I am the right practitioner for you, I offer a free twenty-minute introductory call where you can get a sense of me, how I work and ask any questions you may have. At the same time, I can hear more about what is going on for you and together we can discuss how to move forward.

From  there, we arrange a longer assessment session (60-90 minutes) which helps us understand explore your current circumstances, identify goals and how to move forward. I have extensive training in a range of different therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Compassion Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Person-Centred therapy, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Together we will discuss which approach may be most suitable for you and why. Throughout our work together, we will review how you are finding support and make any changes that we feel might help further.

I offer open-ended support, or blocks of six sessions.
