Discover the Benefits of Yoga
Are you struggling with physical fitness, flexibility, or mobility? Already active but looking to ease your body? Experiencing stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, or burnout? Perhaps you’ve been through trauma, or you’re simply seeking more mindfulness, focus, and calm in your
daily life.
These are just some of the reasons people turn to yoga. Whether your goal is to improve physical strength, boost flexibility, calm the mind, or restore balance, yoga can be a powerful way to reconnect with yourself.
Research shows that yoga supports both physical and mental health – helping to relieve pain (including back pain and arthritis), ease anxiety and depression, and improve sleep and overall wellbeing.
What to Expect
Classes at Peaceful Life Yoga are friendly, welcoming, and relaxed. Through a blend of Asanas
(yoga postures), Pranayama (breath-work), and meditation, you’ll learn techniques to:
- Build strength, balance, and flexibility
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve focus and clarity
- Enhance overall health and vitality
Meditation, breathing practices and simple mindfulness techniques are introduced to support relaxation and can be used at home to bring more balance into daily life.
We’ll also explore aspects of yoga philosophy in an open, down-to-earth way. Everyone is welcome, no matter your level or experience. You’re encouraged to make each class your own, tune into how you feel and move with kindness and awareness.
The Mind–Body Connection
Yoga is about reconnecting with your body, your breath, and the present moment. As we move and breathe with awareness, we quieten the mental chatter and cultivate mindfulness, clarity, and balance. Many people also find a wonderful sense of community in class — a supportive space to
slow down, breathe, and simply be.
Classes & Private Sessions
At Fairbairn House, Haddington, I offer various classes including:
- Ease into Your Day Yoga
- Women’s Yoga for Empowerment
- Yoga for Men
- Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Much of the classes are based on Ashtanga yoga, may include some flow, and influences from both Iyengar and Hatha yoga.
Private Sessions
I offer one-to-one yoga sessions, individually tailored to your needs, goals, and experience level – ideal for complete beginners, those wishing to deepen their practice, or anyone working with specific challenges or areas of focus.
Private sessions for two or three adults are also available, providing a more personalised experience for your small group at a more accessible rate than individual sessions. These can be shared with friends, a partner, or a family member – creating a supportive and enjoyable way to practise together while still receiving focused guidance.
Private Family Yoga Classes
These personalised sessions for a maximum of four people are designed for one or two parents and up to three children (aged 10 and over) to enjoy the many benefits of yoga in a relaxed, supportive setting. Each class is tailored to your family’s needs, energy levels, and experience, whether you’re seeking calm after busy days, a way to strengthen bonds, or simply to share mindful movement together. Through guided breathwork, gentle stretches, flowing postures, and relaxation techniques, you’ll discover how yoga can help:
- Build strength, balance, and flexibility for every body
- Improve focus, emotional regulation, and resilience
- Deepen family connection through shared practice and presence
- Cultivate calm, confidence, and wellbeing at home and beyond
Whether you’re completely new to yoga or already practice, family sessions offer a fun, mindful way to move, laugh, and unwind together.
